Tamil Nadu Coronavirus: 18,281 Active Cases in Hospital Today

Till date in Tamil Nadu, 18,281 active Covid-19 cases, 22,047 patients discharged from hospital, death toll increased to 367. Chennai alone got 13,906 active cases and Chengalpattu in second place with 1404 active cases.

Tamil Nadu C.M. Edappadi K. Palanisamy clears the doubts about the extension of lockdown to the press directly quoting, “Some misogynistic news has been posted on social media that the curfew is likely to remain in my name. This message is completely false. Do not believe any of these rumors. Legal action will be taken against the publishers of such false news”.

Tamil Nadu government appeared in the hearing today also stated that there will no possibilities of stricter lockdown in Chennai and surrounding high CoVid affected localities in the further days and it’s a big achievement in States like Tamil Nadu to be in more control as the developed countries like U.S. is struggling with the contagion.

As the daily CoVid case count for the past 10 days crosses 1000 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu government brought 112 ambulances from various districts to reduce the risk of the public inside the city. The ambulance with a doctor and a nurse each are ready to serve 24/7 in Royapuram, Tondiarpet, T.V.K. Nagar and Kodambakkam areas.

Apart from the public in Chennai, 42 P.G. Students of Chennai Medical College Men’s Hostel have tested positive for CoronaVirus today from testing 58 students. The government officials are making arrangements to quarantine the diseased students for treatment procedures.

Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Beela Rajesh has been changed and Radhakrishnan reappointed as Health Secretary. Government Health Secretary Dr. Beela Rajesh has been ordered to take charge as the Secretary of Tax and Registration department instead of Muruganantham I.A.S. Radhakrishnan was Health Secretary from 2012 to February 2019.

Moreover, the daily report by the Department of Preventive medicine and Public Health of Tamil Nadu has tested 1933 positive cases today with 18 deaths in Tamil Nadu. Apart from the positive cases inside the State, 49 people has been confirmed with the contagion who travelled via abroad and domestic flights along with road and rail routes hiking the total positive cases today to 1982.

With increasing numbers daily, Tamil Nadu C.M. ordered the public to follow strict social regulations mainly to overcome the deadly virus and lead back normalcy.
