Again the Chief election Commissioner of Tamil Nadu has been changed. Rajesh Lakhoni is to be posted up for some other department.
The Head of Election commission department had appointed Satyabrata Sahoo as the next chief of Tamil Nadu Election Commission. Sahoo is currently the managing director of the Chennai’s Metropolitan water supply department. The chief election commission had officially declared him as the next Chief Election Commissioner of Tamil Nadu on Thursday February 22, 2018.
Satyabratha Sahoo, an IAS officer from Tamil Nadu’s batch of 1997 and his native is Odisha. Sahoo is now holding as the managing director of Sewerage Board of Chennai and Metropolitan water supply Board too. He was posted to those departments in last September. Other than this, he had been worked as a head for many government offices. Hence he has been selected as the chief to hold the office of Election Commission of Tamil Nadu.
Official reports also confirmed that Rajesh Lakhoni, who is currently holding the office of EC would be transferred to some other department as soon after Sahoo claimed his office.
The sudden appointment of Sahoo is already expected by the EC department of Tamil Nadu as Rajesh Lakhoni had applied for a transfer from the department. Reports cited a valued reason that, Lakhoni felt uncomfortable with the unstable rule of Tamil Nadu and he can’t bear it any more.
