Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday morning took oath at 17th Lok Sabha. It is the first session after Modi sworn as the Prime Minister for the second time. Among Modi, several others including Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, chemical and fertilizers minister D V Sadanand Gowda and Smriti Irani took oath. During his oath taking PM said, as a member of Lok Sabha pledge he will abide delivering his duties.
He also added several bills will be passed in this session. The session had begun with 2 minutes silent prayer and when PM Modi was taking oath there was a long cheer up from the other members sitting back. They also chanted “Modi Modi” when Narendra Modi was taking oath. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was not present at morning session who was defeated by Smriti Irani at Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. But in afternoon session he will be present and taking oath as MP representing Wayanad, Kerala.
