DMK Chief M K Stalin was arrested for protesting against the bus fare hike

M.K. Stalin, Vaiko, Thirumavalavan have been arrested in the protest against bus fare hike.

A protest has been unfurled around Tamil Nadu with the support of DMK. The protest is under full thrust in places like Chennai, Trichy, Tiruvannamalai, Ariyalur, Palayankottai, Kanchipuram and Tanjore.

DMK cadres have been protesting against the ‘Bus Fare Hike’ under the leadership of DMK’s chief M.K.Stalin. Thol.Thirumavalavan from VCK and Vaiko from MDMK and their cadres have joined their hands in the protest along with M.K.Stalin.

Stalin and his cadres had started their marching from Kolathur constituency, today. After a short march, they started to block the roads and shouting slogans against the government. Police personals ordered Mr. Stalin to withdraw the protest as it has no permissions for blocking the road and making public nuisance.

Later Stalin and some of the important cadres were arrested by police as they refused to obey the orders. Along with Stalin, Vaiko, who protested at Saidhapet and Thol. Thirumavalavan were also been arrested. More than 200 supporters of DMK have been arrested in a protest at Pudhukottai.

Meanwhile for compromising the protest of TN people, the government had reduced the bus fair as 58% which was before 60% on 28th January. While asking Stalin about the reduction, he said it was just a eye washing action of TN government. The 2% reduction won’t bring any great change in the high cost of bus fare. He also asked the government that it should take back the hike completely.
